Garden Competition 2025

It's back!  And we haven't forgotten the allotments!

We hope in time to add small and large gardens to the competition, but for now, we're focussing on small and mighty - decorative frontages - pots, planters, baskets.

Or if you grow your own fruit, veg & flowers, why not show them off too?  (at home or at the Ibthorpe Allotments *)

There are two classes with trophies for both:

  • Best Decorative Frontage seen from the road or pathway
  • Best Vegetable Garden (not bigger than 20' x 40') or Best Ibthorpe Allotment

If you'd like to know a bit more, we can give you lots more information. Judging is on Monday 7th July 2025. You can enter by coming along to one of the registration dates (Friday 4th July 3-4pm on the tennis court at KGV field ; Sunday 6th July 5-7pm Rural Business Hub) or online here.  Just £1 per entry!

This is a fun, local competition – not Chelsea – and points will be awarded accordingly. Remember, you are competing under the same growing conditions as the rest of the community and points may be awarded for tidiness and eco-friendliness, as well as the quality of planting. The judges are happy to answer gardeners’ questions if there is time, BUT the task of judging has priority.

* the garden and allotment competition is only open to residents in the villages of Hurstbourne Tarrant, Ibthorpe, Upton, Linkenholt & Faccombe
